My Pick of The Week~

I found myself absorbing the solemn voice of Robin Thicke round about mid morning today. And the more I listened in on his track 'lost without you'- the more it dawned on me on how beautiful, serenading and soothing his voice is...making it My Pick of The Week...

If you need something to calm your storms from the night before - Robin is your man...very theraputic in my opinion. An excellent piece of music composed and arranged by Robin Thicke -The Evolution of Robin Thicke -  Listen and learn something about love & life

This week has kind of been a little hectic so I couldn't get around to updating my pick of the week. However better too late than never they say so here we go happy people. Taking the spot is my man Ryan Leslie...
Born Anthony Ryan Leslie on September 25, 1978, in Washington, D.C., Ryan is a Grammy nominated American record producer, multi-instrumentalist, rapper, entrepreneur, and singer. Founder of the media company NextSelection Lifestyle Group, Leslie has produced singles for a number of artists in a variety of genres ranging from R&B/Hip-Hop to Pop to Gospel. From 2005–2006, he had his most commercial success to date with NextSelection/Bad Boy/Atlantic recording artist Cassie and her single "Me & U". Leslie's debut album, Ryan Leslie (2009), features the songs "Diamond Girl," "Addiction," and "How It Was Supposed To Be."

One thing I like about R Leslie, is his great talent in song writing and instrument composition...This dude knows how to make music...I'm surprised his name has not yet echoed amongst some of the greatest...I say in time he will...My favourite track of his...I R I N A puts him right there on my pick of the week...06/04/11

This week is no other than my main man Brian Mcknight that takes the spot of my artist of the week...

In 1999, McKnight released Back at One (his second release from Motown; after the Christmas album Bethlehem), which sold over three million copies. Throughout his career he has collaborated with a variety of musicians including Sin Bandera, Mase, Sean "Puffy" Combs, Mary J. Blige, Justin Timberlake, Nelly, Vanessa Williams, Ivete Sangalo, Kirk Franklin, For Real, Canibus, Quincy Jones, Boyz II Men, Christina Aguilera, Regine Velasquez, Shoshana Bean, Gordon Goodwin's Big Phat Band, Rascal Flatts, Talib Kweli, MJG (of the Southern Rap duo Eightball & MJG), Josh Groban (on his 2007 #1 Christmas album Noel Schajris), Justin Bieber, Ashley "Awesome" Speelman and CeCe Peniston.

I went to his concert back in 2007 and yes he is a performer - my favourite track- 'he used to be my girl' great lyrics - check it out

Well well well...it gets better! this week I decided to listen in on some old school R&Bs and by chance I stepped on Monifah Carter....for those of you who appreciated music at an early age of your growing up you will remember Monifah....talented, with such soulful voice...was doing it just right if you were into the kinda sweet mood moments tunes in the late 90's...In 1996, her debut album, Moods...Moments was released. Unfortunately not much were released subsequently- just 3 albums in total with her last album in 2000 - Home

My favourite track is -its alright from the album Moods...Moments. To appreciate our soulful sweet ladies that paved the way to many of today's younger generation, I pick Monifah as my artist of the week...
Good Album check it out!

Well done Adele you have taken the spot of my pick of the week...I picked Adele not because of her talent and the fact that she is a good singer...but simply because the track "someone like you" is the most annoying song for me this week....its a great song and all but damn! is this radio station ever going to stop playing it?...I'm having to listen to this song like 10 times a day since last week...good gracious I can even hear it in my sleep at night...No question is a good song...but enough is enough...

For the fact that its the most annoying song for me...it gets the vote 14/03/11

Anthony Hamilton takes the spot of my first artist of the week...Born on Jan 28 1971, Anthony Hamilton is a credible r&b/soul singer, song writer and a producer who rose to fame with his platinum-selling second studio album Comin' from Where I'm From (2003), which featured the singles "Comin' from Where I'm From" and "Charlene"
This dude in my opinion is very talented yet humble from a very humble beginning - my favorite track of his is - pass me over -  a very inspirational track - do check it out if you have the chance and be inspired...

With that being said and for that track alone - he gets my vote for artist of the week...07/03/11
